Outcome of a Witness

Luke recorded the outcome of being a witness for Jesus Christ: agitation, persecution, and changed lives. Being a witness for Jesus Christ will result in agitation and persecution; nevertheless, it will also change lives. Christians are to witness for Jesus Christ despite agitation and persecution; because, lives will be changed.

Scripture

Acts 4:1-4 (NASB)
1 As they were speaking to the people, the priests and the captain of the temple guard and the Sadducees came up to them, 2  being greatly disturbed because they were teaching the people and proclaiming in Jesus the resurrection from the dead. 3 And they laid hands on them and put them in jail until the next day, for it was already evening. 4  But many of those who had heard the message believed; and the number of the men came to be about five thousand.

Opening Prayer

Heavenly Father, Jesus promised us the Hoy Spirit and that we would receive the power to be witnesses throughout the world. Please fill us with that power so that despite our circumstances, we would prove to be favorable witnesses of Your glory, mercy, and love and, as a result, transform not only ourselves; but, the lives of those around us. May You receive all the honor and praise, in Jesus’ name, amen.

Proposition

Christians are to witness for Jesus Christ despite agitation and persecution; because, lives will be changed.
